What does MER mean?

MER, or Management Expense Ratio, is the percentage of a fund's value that is spent on operational costs each year. It consists of things like paying the fund manager, any trailing commissions*, record keeping costs, accounting and legal fees, and reporting costs.

*None of the funds selected in CI Direct Investing's portfolios include trailing commissions.
